The sehmaRF generator can be programmed to create linear lesions ranging from millimeter to any desire length and depth using only a few watts of RF energy. The minimal use of RF energy is accomplished through a sophisticated mathematical algorithm and a closed-loop control system. This technology provides a self-regulating RF output which constantly monitors its environment and adjusts the power level as needed.

Advantages to Low Power RF Energy

Reduced Patient Risk.
There are many advantages for using low output power RF generator. Virtually all RF generators on the market generate 50 to 150 watts of power for ablation applications especially for cadiac lesion creation. Higher energy levels are riskier for the patient since it increases the odds of coagulation which can result in blood clots and possible strokes.

Simplified Approval Process.
By generating the minimal required RF power for the procedure also simplifies the task of obtaining regulatory approval from agencies such as UL and FDA. Besdies being safer for the patient, lower RF output also reduces the EMI (electro magnetic interferance) as well as leakage current created by the generator.
