Personal Power Plant
Emergency Backup System
The Personal Power Plant is a homemade stand-alone energy system that outputs up to a kilowatt of portable quiet energy. It can be used as an emergency power back-up system in the case of power outages, or a portable power unit for camping or day trips in the car.
Hassle-Free Operation
This personal back-up system requires no maintenance and is safe for indoor use. It can be recharged from 110Vac, 12VDC or from solar cells, and has a low battery shut down as well as fuse protection. In our house, it's connected to a dedicated circuit which connects to one outlet in each room (orange colored outlets). When power is lost, these outlets become energized and provide power to auxiliary lighting. It works better than scrambling to find a flashlight in the dark.
